NOISE POETS are entertainers, with a structured music act full of timeless rock and originals that draw and hold audiences as they play nearly non-stop sets, packed with energy and showmanship.
NOISE POETS play serious rock and roll. Timeless songs for listening, watching and dancing. They play stellar classics that are the roots of their popular originals. They make the greatest cover songs their own; they are interpreters, not muzak makers. Photos and video don't capture the true energy of this band, you have to see and hear them LIVE!
NOISE POETS Power Trio are George Lee, vocals and guitar; Joe Dawson, bass and vocals; and Nick Veremis, drums and vocals. If you love music where concert performance meets bar band spontaneity, you won't be disappointed!
NOISE POETS are available for concerts, club dates and private or corporate events as well. Their show can be tailored to fit any audience.
George Douglas Lee Lead Singer and Guitarist
Singer/Songwriter/Guitarist - Lee has a long career in music with three singles, a vinyl record album and six CDs to his credit. Find his CDs and download his music on CDBaby or iTunes!
Lee is also a produced and published playwright (an inductee to the Texas Playwrighting Hall of Fame) and a produced screenwriter. Music is his first love, however. Influenced by The Beatles, Hank Williams, Ian Hunter and others, Lee's style is varied and intense. Focusing on lyrical content, he writes with substance and melody in mind.
Lee is also host of the popular Electric Theatre Radio Hour and owner of the G.Lee Gallery in downtown Galveston.
Lee is available for solo acoustic performances as well.
Joe Dawson Bassist
Bassist Joe Dawson was born in Chicago, IL. He travelled the country with his stepfather Terry Hedrick who raced funny cars in the 60's and early 70's, then started with open wheel formula cars. In 1973 he moved to Southern California. After spending a couple years surfing Mexico, in 1984 he joined the Navy, to be a Seal. During Navy Seal candidate training he broke his wrist and was in a cast for 2 years and 10 months. After leaving the Navy in 1988 he went to school and received a computer science degree. In 1990 he moved to Maui, where he got his dive master and captain's license. While in Hawaii, Joe played in several bands: The Wave Warriors (they did sound tracks for 5 surf movies by Herbie Fletcher), Crutial Faith and Need for Water, to name a few. In 2005 Joe moved to Houston, Texas and started Dawson Equestrian Center with his brother. He has played in several bands here locally: Center Lane, Carl Piano Smith, Dave Smith Band, Smith and Turner and Dirty Moonshine (they opened for national acts at large venues.) Dawson is also a vocalist.
Nick Veremis Drummer
Drummer Nick Veremis grew up listening to early rock and roll, soul, jazz and Latin music. His family owned a night club and he took lessons from some of the drummers performing at the club. For 10 years Veremis was with a 7 piece zydeco band in Michigan. He recently moved to Galveston and is the power behind the NOISE POETS hard hitting sound. Veremis is also a vocalist.
